Ronald Anthony Chennisi, 89, of Kingwood, Texas passed away August 5th, 2024. Ron was born September 13th, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the first son of Vincent Chennisi and Bianca Valzone.

He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School Class of 1951 and attended City University of New York, graduating in 1965 with a Liberal Arts and Science Pre-Law degree.

Ron started his career as an accountant at GMAC in 1955 before serving in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. While in the army, he was stationed in West Germany. After completing his service, he returned to work at GMAC before taking a position at Exxon in 1963 where he built a 30-year career. He started at Exxon as an accountant and held several positions there, ultimately serving as an Oil Title Analyst before retiring in 1993.

In 1960 while vacationing in Florida he met and fell in love with Barbara Culhane. They married in New York City on June 10th, 1961. Over the course of their life together, they lived in The Bronx, NY; Peekskill, NY; Bellaire, MD; Spring, TX; and Battlement Mesa, CO, before returning to Kingwood outside of Houston. Ron and Barbara had a full, lasting, and loving marriage of 63 years.

Ron and Barbara were blessed with three sons; David, Greg and Dan. Ron took great pride in all their accomplishments and very much loved the beautiful families that each of the three built. Those families allowed him to later become a loving grandfather to Gabi, Andrew, Grace, Elora, and Luke, and more recently a great-grandfather to Ariela and Oliver.

During his life, Ron loved basketball and baseball – playing, and coaching, and following college and professional teams. He also greatly enjoyed reading, photography, painting, travel (European river cruises in particular), and history. He will be remembered for always having an interesting tidbit of history to share in conversations.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son David and his wife Susan; son Greg and his wife Andrea, son Dan and his wife Katie; grandchildren Gabi and her husband Brenden Duncombe, Andrew Chennisi, Grace Knowles, Elora Chennisi, and Luke Chennisi; and great-grandchildren Ariela and Oliver Duncombe.

We will miss him greatly.
