Ronald (Ron) Coleman
September 17, 1950-September 4, 2023
72 Years old
Ron passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 peacefully at home with his children by his side.
Ron was born in Houston, Texas on September 17, 1950 to John and Vera Coleman.
Ron lived his entire life in the greater Houston area. He graduated from South Houston High School, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and performing in school plays. After graduating, he attended the University of Houston. He was a Rhodes Scholar and studied at the University of Oxford as well as Exeter University in England. Ron began his educational career in the Clear Creek School District as a counselor, Social Studies Teacher, and on to Assistant Principal. Later, his hard work paid off and became Principal of his own school. Finally, Ron ended up in Channelview ISD as the curriculum director. At the end of his career, he was a professor at the University of Houston until his retirement. Teaching was something Ron always loved; it was a real gift of his!
Ron especially loved to travel! Taking a cruise became one of his favorite vacations. Going to the beach was another one of Ron's pastimes he enjoyed. Also, gardening and working in the yard. If you ever went to Ron's house, he had the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood! Most of all, Ron loved playing the organ and piano and singing in the choir at the New Apostolic Church. For many years he directed the choir and shared his love of music with so many. He was also a Spiritual Leader as well and helped guide and pray for souls in his church.
Ron was always the life of the party and such a joy to be around. He always had lots of friends who enjoyed his company. He was a great host and loved to decorate with beautiful flower arrangements. Ron's welcoming smile and generous nature will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ron is proceeded in death by his parents and infant sister. He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Vos (David), son, Eric (Laura), sister, Chris Schock, grandchildren, Alexis, Emily, Caroline, Preston, and Braden. A niece, and several cousins.
