Obituary

Ronald Wayne McFarland passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2024, with his precious wife Lisa asleep by his side. He was born on January 24, 1963, in Houston, Texas to Ronald and Mary McFarland. He graduated from New Caney High School in 1981, and immediately after graduating he started his career at Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P), now CenterPoint Entergy as a Lineman. He retired in 2022. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Lisa Renee Tobias, on March 23, 1984. This year they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Ronald also known to many as "Daddy, Brother, Punkin, Red, Grumps, and the beloved Uncle Bully", loved life and lived it to the fullest. If you knew Ronald, you knew that he was proud of his Faith in God, his love of Family, and his unwavering respect of his Country. Ronald had many hobbies including working with his hands to build furniture, outdoor patios, numerous dance props for recitals, and anything a family member or friend requested! The love of his horses, caring for them, riding them brought him pure joy. Finally, if you knew Ronald, you knew that he was a country music lover. He loved to dance with his bride Lisa every chance he had. In 2016 Ronald fought a courageous battle with cancer and WON!

Ronald was preceded in death by his father Ronald A. McFarland, and father-in-law Carl "Billy" Tobias. He leaves behind his wife, Lisa Tobias McFarland, daughter Kay-cie McFarland, granddaughter Paisleigh McFarland, mom Mary McFarland, sister Debbie McFarland, mother-in-law Beverly Tobias and bonus daughters Desiree & husband Luke Harrod, Marie & husband David Newsom. Bonus granddaughters Brylee Newsom, Tobie Newsom, Tenly Newsom, Kashlynn Davis, and Gracelynn Harrod. His brother-in-law, Anthony Tobias and wife Rhonda, Jerry Tobias and wife Tina, and Tommy Tobias and wife Patti, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Ronald's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, at Porter First Baptist Church, with Pastor Troy Cates officiating. We invite you to join us in honoring Ronald's memory. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request remembrance donations to be sent to Porter First Baptist Church, Porter, Texas.
