It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Ann Jones, who departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 21, 2024 at the age of 76.

Ruth was born on April 5,1948 in Prineville, Oregon to Clen Walker and Lovie Lee Gunter Walker and was the youngest of four children. Her early years were spent in Oregon; Colorado; New Mexico; and Elm Springs, Arkansas. She attended Elm Springs Elementary and Springdale Consolidated Schools, graduating from high school in 1966. She pursued advanced education at the University of Arkansas, where she met the love of her life–Michael D. Jones.

On November 20, 1970, Ruth and Michael were married at Brush Creek Baptist Church in Elm Springs, Arkansas. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, marked by deep affection, shared values, and dedication. Together, they created a loving and supportive home and raised two wonderful daughters, Jacqueline Jones and Krista Oldham, whom Ruth adored and nurtured with unwavering love.

Ruth was spiritually grounded in her faith and was a devoted member of Brush Creek Baptist Church and later Kingwood First Baptist Church. She was a beloved presence, known for her kindness, generosity, and deep sense of compassion towards others.

Ruth was an avid reader of mysteries set in the Southwest and a skilled painter and crafter. She delighted in entertaining and cooking for others. Ruth enjoyed camping and fishing in the Colorado Rockies, watching wildlife, and spending time outdoors. She loved going on family road trips to historic places and was especially fond of summer trips to the beach and fall trips to the Arkansas Ozark Mountains.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clen and Lovie Lee Walker; sisters Helen Mae and Luella; in-laws "Pete" and Rosemary Jones; and granddog Bodhi.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Michael, and their two daughters: Jacqueline Jones (husband, Rob Earp) and Krista Oldham (husband, Scot). She also leaves behind her brother William Walker and sister-in-law Verlene; brother-in-law Paul Jones and wife Sheryl; niece Sonya Walker; nephew Clen Andrew Walker; step-granddaughters, Peyton Mueller, Reagan Earp, Leah Earp; granddog Bombadil "Bomba"; and a host of friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at Kingwood First Baptist Church. A small gathering of family and friends will join together in remembering a life well-lived and honoring a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many.

Ruth will be remembered for her giving spirit, caring eyes, radiant smile, and steadfast support for those she loved. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
