Sarah Jane
Atkinson
Aug 19, 1939 — Feb 5, 2023
Loving wife, mom, grandma (Maw-Maw) and great-grandma, Sarah Jane Atkinson, went home to the Lord on February 5th, 2023 after a battle with lymphoma. Jane was 83 and was surrounded by many loving family members and friends when she passed.
Jane was born to Eddie and Hazel Strader on August 19th, 1939, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. While living in Sperry, Oklahoma, Jane graduated Sperry High School. She realized her passion for music, softball, puzzles, and numbers. March of 1965, she met her best friend & husband, James (Jim) Atkinson. An engagement followed in June of that year and the two were married on April 15th, 1966. December of 1968 began another passion of hers, motherhood, with the birth of her first son, James Atkinson II. Her second son Jeffry Atkinson followed in May of 1974. May of 1990, Jane was blessed with another new title, Grandma/Maw-Maw. There would be 5 more grandkids to complement that title. In 2014, another title of hers arrived, Great Grandma, with the birth of the first of 3 great grandkids.
She was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and was an integral part of Plum Grove Assembly of God church. A loyal servant to God, Jane spent many of her hours dedicating her life to Secretarial and Treasury work for the church. Now that Jane has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Jane's physical life on Earth, it's the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
She is survived by many loving family members, including James Atkinson, husband; James Atkinson II, son & wife Angela Atkinson; Jeffry Atkinson, son & fianc Kimberly McCowan; Krina Traywick, granddaughter and husband Jeremy Traywick; Evan Atkinson, grandson and wife Lauren Atkinson; Tyler Atkinson, granddaughter; Liam Partain, grandson; Steven Bolt, grandson; Brandon Atkinson, grandson; Jane Small, great-granddaughter; Obadiah Atkinson, great-grandson; Samson Atkinson, great-grandson; Hazel Hallford, sister; Billy Strader, brother.
