Nona Mae Talbert died peacefully following a long illness on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 6:45pm. She was born September 14, 1937. Nona was a meat wrapper for many years for Rice Food Market. She was the oldest of Wiley and Thelma Meeks. She had one sister Hellen Weitzel and one brother Larry Meeks, all of whom preceded her in death.

Nona grew up in Garrison, Texas. The family eventually moved to Houston, Texas where her daddy was a butcher. At the age of 13 she worked along side her dad to become a meat wrapper. Nona married Pellom Talbert in November 1954. In 1961 god blessed them with a daughter, Shirley Talbert. Her daughter married in 1979 to Ralph Boles. Nona had three grand kids; Lora, Leslie, and Edward. She also had four great-grand kids; Belinda, Jake, Vivian, and Ryan. She had one niece Dee Dee and two nephews Fredy and Tommy and a great niece Tara and two great great nieces Nyla and Natalie.

Nona was a good hearted person, if you needed something she was the first one to be there, if you need to talk she would listen. She was committed to her family, they were her world as she was to theirs.
