Dan is loved and missed by his parents, Mike and Ellen Taylor; his sister Gwen Mesa, brother-in-law JJ, and niece Josie; daughter Kindall and her boyfriend Michael Castro; daughters Mia, Avery, and Marley, and their mother Kristel Strehle; girlfriend Christina Holmes; aunts and uncles Ken and Danny Taylor, Susan Swift; cousins Monica and Van Stevens, Kerrie and John Vacalis, Claire and Eric Kugler, Kirby and Amy Swift; and his dogs Kali and Ghost.

Dan was recognized and honored by his instructors at Airframe and Powerplant certification school as a gifted mechanic. He liked to build and fix bicycles, motorcycles, guns, and computers. His dad was his best friend. He loved anything fast, from roller coasters to motorcycles, and liked to go shooting and bike riding. He had a gentle heart and loved his dogs, especially his big boy Strider. Dan loved to tease, especially his mom; watch movies, go for bike rides and walks with his family, and avoid having his picture taken. Most of all, he loved and adored his girls. Dan often said of each of them, "She has my heart."
