Silversmith, Jewelry Artist, and animal advocate Teresa Rubino died On September 14 at the age of 55.

A 1989 graduate of Kingwood High School, she went on to earn a Graphic Arts Degree from Texas Tech in 1993.

Teresa created unique, custom and bespoke jewelry and art pieces from her home studio and with the Glassell School of Art at MFAH. Her artwork was displayed at galleries and art shows, and her enamel work was featured on the HGTV show "That's Clever."

She enjoyed keeping fit by running and challenged herself with running-distance races and events. She also practiced and taught yoga- most recently at Yoga One studio. She was a graphic/web designer and metal smith.

She was a hero to animals and an advocate for adoptions. She worked with various rescue groups to save and improve the lives of homeless animals.

She is survived by her adoring family: her parents, Mary and Anthony Rubino of Kingwood; her siblings, Karen Whaley and Anthony Rubino; and her brother-in-law, Blaine Whaley. She was a beloved Tia to her nieces and nephews, who adored her as much as she adored them: Zhanya, Anthony Michael, Zane, Ryan, Zina, Rylee, and Zaria.

She is also survived by her aunts, Sylvia, Andrea, and Sophie Caruso; her uncle, Mark Seber,; and many beloved cousins, including Luke, Jason, Justin, and Mary Ann. She was preceded in death by her beloved Uncle Walt and Aunt Sue. She leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory and deeply miss her.
