Thomas Andrew
Lewis
May 16, 1946 — Jul 19, 2026
Thomas Andrew Lewis Jr., known lovingly by family and friends as "Junior," passed away on July 19, 2026 at the age of 80. Born on May 16, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Thomas Andrew Lewis Sr. and Helen Roberts Lewis. Junior lived a life defined by service, honesty, and a quiet devotion to the people he loved.
In 1965, Junior answered his country's call and enlisted in the United States Army. He served three tours in Vietnam, earning the rank of Sergeant before returning home in 1972. That same year, in November, he married the love of his life, Delilah. Together they built a family and a life rooted in hard work and mutual respect. Junior went on to work as a maintenance engineer, bringing the same discipline and dedication to his career that he had shown in uniform. He was a proud member of the New Caney American Legion Post 615, where he continued to serve alongside fellow veterans.
Anyone who knew Junior knew a man of deep integrity. He was respectful of everyone he met, honest to his core, and the kind of person who would never ask someone to do something he hadn't already done himself. If you were in need, Junior was there, no questions asked. When he wasn't helping others, you could find him attending to his garden, looking after his beloved goat, or settling in with a good western novel or movie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Andrew Lewis Sr. and Helen Roberta, and his brother John Lewis, and daughter in law Jennifer Lewis.
He is survived by his devoted wife Delilah Lewis; his sons Thomas Andrew Lewis III, Jonathan Russell Lewis and wife Jessica Lewis, and Cameron Mitchell Lewis and wife Nicole Lewis. Grandsons: Devon Lewis, Logan Lewis, and Adrian Lewis. Granddaughters: Breanna Lewis, Ainslee Lewis, and Alyx Lewis. Great grandchildren: Evelyn Villyard, Jaxston Lewis, and Ryleigh Wright. His brothers, Ronald Lewis, Albert Lewis, and Kevin Lewis. His sisters, Beverly Morgan, Shirley Myers, and Marilyn Koehler, along with many other family and friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 28th, from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m. at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas. The funeral service will begin promptly at 12 noon on Wednesday, July, 29th, Darst Funeral Home, with Brother Glen Mead officiating.
