Graveside services for Michael "Mike" E. Todd, 69, of Baytown, Texas, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 with full military honors at Houston National Cemetery.

Mike was born on July 4, 1951 in Buffalo, New York to the late Ruth Ann (Pfeiffer) and Francis Joseph Todd and died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in a local hospital in Baytown, TX.

After high school, Michael moved to Texas with his parents and siblings. He attended the University of Houston where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Hotel Management. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Kentucky at Fort Knox until 1978. While in the Army, he decided to pursue a career in tax law.

Michael returned to Texas and went on to receive a Masters degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University in 1980. Soon after graduation, he began working for the United States Treasury. He, once again, furthered his education by earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law in 1986. He even went on to obtain a highly specialized Master of Laws degree from the University of Houston in 2004. Michael served as an United States Treasury Internal Revenue Service agent for 40 years. He was looking forward to retirement in March.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Francis J. and Ruth Ann Todd and brother, W. Cameron Todd.

He is survived by his brothers: Larry S. Todd, Patrick A. Todd and wife Carol, and Keith F. Todd and wife Susan; his former wife, Valrie Chambers; his step-children Cassandra Jean Amell and husband Stephen (daughter Mavi) and Clayton Whitehead and wife Sarah. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing will be required at the cemetery.
