Obituary

Vickie Diana Loving, aged 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2024, at her residence in Porter Texas. She was born on March 29, 1945 in Houston, Texas, to parents Elma Ethel and Lloyd Victor Masterson; she was the oldest of 8 children.

Vickie lived her life as a faithful Christian, professing Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the young age of 9 years old. Throughout her childhood she attended Bethel Baptist Church, but later in life became a member at Key Life Fellowship in New Caney, Texas.

Vickie graduated New Caney High School in 1964; she was a proud member of the cheerleading squad, volleyball, and basketball teams. She received many awards in high school including homecoming queen, most popular, and most beautiful. While attending NCHS, Vickie met the love of her life, Johnnie Burl Loving, and they married on August 21, 1965. Together they raised two Loving sons.

Vickie was outgoing, well liked and respected by many. She loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with her family and was well known for her camp breakfast. She had a great love of music both gospel and country. She loved gardening and had the greenest thumb around with the ability to nurse a dying plant back to life! She enjoyed knitting, quilting, working puzzles, coloring with her granddaughters and agitating her grandsons. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family and cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren in there many activities throughout the years!

Vickie Diane Loving is survived by her husband of 60 years, Johnnie Burl Loving. She is survived by her 2 children Dennis Earl Loving and wife JoAnne and Cheston Burl Loving and wife Kim.

Vickie is survived by 5 grandchildren: Kyle Allen Loving, Dalton Wayne Loving, Bryan Scott McDaniel, Kailee Grace Loving, and Hayden Cole Loving. She is survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Karson Loving, Karoline Loving, Kanton Loving, Peyton McDaniel, and Brady McDaniel.

Vickie is survived by her 7 siblings: Sue Houston and husband Thomas, Ronnie Masterson and wife Janice, Judy Trout and husband Larry, Debbie McKinney, Audie Masterson and wife Cristi, Carol Hesson and husband Scott, and Royce Masterson and wife Deborah. She is survived by 24 nieces and nephews and a growing number of great nieces and nephews.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd Victor and Elma Ethel Masterson, and brother-in-law Don McKenney.

A visitation will be held for Vickie Diane Loving at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, Texas, on May 28, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held, May 29, 2024, at Darst Funeral Home, starting at 1pm, followed by a graveside service at White Oak Cemetery in Porter, Texas.
