Virginia Czubik Aber went peacefully to her eternal reward on March 16, 2023 at the age of 99.

She was born Virginia Henrietta Witkowski on November 1, 1923 in Detroit, MI to loving parents, Helen and William Witkowski.

During World War II she was awarded for her work selling War Bonds to her fellow employees in one of the biggest defense plants in Detroit. It was during the war that she met the first love of her life, Sgt. Walter Czubik. They married February 10, 1945 and later welcomed a son, Gregory. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.

After Walter's death in 1981, Virginia moved to Denver, CO to live with her sister and best friend, Helen (Babe). There she met her second love, Dick Aber. Following Dick's death in 2000, Virginia moved to Kingwood, TX to be near her son and his family.

In Kingwood she made many new friends and loved everyone and everything…except the weather! Virginia had many wonderful times with her fellow residents at Eden Terrace. Well into her 80s, she began writing stories about her life, which her granddaughter and daughter-in-law compiled into a book. She was referred to as the Grandma Moses of storywriters and delighted residents of her community with recitals.

Virginia was predeceased by her mother and father; brother and sister, Leonard Witkowski and Helen Jekot; and her husbands, Walter and Dick. She is survived by her son, Gregory Czubik, his wife, Kathleen, their children, Gregg J. Czubik, Julie M. O'Shea and her husband, Gerard, Daniel J. Czubik and his wife, Sarah, and Timothy J. Czubik; and four grandchildren, Vera and Emily Czubik, and Eleanor (Ellie) and Gerard P. O'Shea.

Virginia was most recently a resident of Caring Hands Assisted Living in Porter, TX, where she received wonderful care in a loving environment. Special thanks to Julia and Cornel Radutui and the entire staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Martha Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to Martha's Kitchen.
