Obituary

Mr. Wallace "Wally" Fleming Jr., 82, of Porter Texas, peacefully passed away on September 28th, 2023. He was born on June 21st, 1941, in Houston Texas, to the late Mr. Wallace and Mrs. Irma Fleming.

Wally, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mrs. Diane Fleming. He was a loving father to his children, Mr. Wally (Linda) Fleming, Mrs. Cathy (Matthew) Strange, and Ms. Cindy Fleming. Wallys memory will forever be cherished by his sister, Mrs. Elaine Bischof, and his brother, Mr. Mike (Linda) Fleming. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. Wally was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Gayle Williford and his uncle John L Cockrum.

Wally was a proud veteran, having served in the US Air Force. He dedicated himself to serving his country and was well-respected for his military associations.

Wally was a proud and faithful deacon serving the church and congregation for many years. He tirelessly volunteered countless hours bringing children to church through the bus ministry. God used his selflessness to show unconditional love and acceptance.

Wally was a fourth generation Texan and belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution and the Sons of the Republic of Texas.

Wally dedicated himself to serving his community as a proud member of the Houston Fire Department. His commitment to protecting and assisting others was unwavering.

In his leisure time, Wally enjoyed watching the Astros play baseball, walking his faithful companion Brownie, and taking drives in his beloved car.

A ceremony to honor Wallys life will be held at the respected Darst Funeral Home, located at 700 Russel Palmer Rd, Kingwood, TX 77339, on October 13th, 2023, at 12:30 PM. Following the service, Wally will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, at 2:15 PM.

The compassionate team at Darst Funeral Home is honored to assist the family during this difficult time. Their professionalism and dedication will ensure that Wallys final farewell is conducted with the utmost respect and reverence.

Wallys presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his memory serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to his loved ones.

Service Information A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at Darst Funeral Home Chapel.
