William (Bill) Darrell Hyer, Jr. was born on November 7, 1932 in Corsicana, Texas to parents William Darrell Hyer, Sr and Lillian Betty Hyer. He passed away in Tomball, Texas on September 18, 2024.

Bill grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Sunset High School. He attended the University of Texas in Austin. He received a bachelor's degree in marketing from North Texas University in Denton, Texas. Bill proudly served in the Navy as an air traffic controller. After graduating from college, Bill worked for Exxon. He worked for Exxon in a variety of roles until he retired as an investment planning coordinator.

Bill enjoyed water skiing, playing tennis, sports cars, coaching his daughter's soccer team, watching football, chocolate, country dancing, hunting, motorcycle riding, wood working, and being at the lake and beach with friends and family. He had lifelong fraternity brothers from college as friends. He enjoyed the brotherhood of being a member of the Shriners, riding his motorcycle in parades and service to the community with them. He was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was honest, sincere, and a good citizen. He loved his family and friends. He loved dogs and always had one by his side.

He was first married to Glenn (Lynn) Lee Gill. They had two daughters, Lori and Gerri. He later married Judith (Judy) Mulvaney who had two children, Cindi and Danny. Bill and Judy were married for 49 happy years. When Exxon closed their office in Dallas, Bill's fraternity brother, Alex Keatts helped Bill and Judy find a home in Spring, Texas where they lived for 40 years. In Spring, they found community in their neighborhood and made lifelong friendships with their neighbors.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Judy Hyer of New Braunfels, TX; his daughters Gerri Hyer of San Antonio, TX and Lori Keatts of New Braunfels, TX; son-in law Mark Keatts of New Braunfels, TX; son of Judy, Dan Mulvaney and wife Sheila of League City, TX; grandchildren Ryan Keatts and wife Megan Keatts of New Braunfels, TX; Linzee Gray and husband Taylor Gray of New Braunfels, TX; Nicholas Daulong of Oxford, MI; Stephanie Kelly and husband John Kelly of Oakland Township, MI; Sophie and Sam Mulvaney; great grandchildren Arya Keatts of New Braunfels, TX; and Thomas and Eliza Kelly of Oakland Township, MI; along with many neighbors and friends.
