In addition, she developed her love of the arts and was skilled in cooking, ceramics, cross-stitch, embroidery, crochet, knitting, decoupage, and quilting. She was a faithful member of Lake Houston United Methodist Church in Huffman.
She loved adventure and became a successful pilot at age 57. She flew with her husband across several states to visit family. She was an avid exerciser and, at one time, the oldest member of Curves in Atascocita.
After retirement, Obrin and Billie traveled abroad. They also attended various Elderhostel programs across the US. They made many lasting friendships through their travel.
