David Wayne Work, of Kingwood, TX, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021 at the age of 70. David was born on January 20, 1951 in Houston, TX to Robert and Betty Work. He grew up as the oldest of four brothers, playing baseball and going to Saturday matinee movies. David started working at the age of 14 mowing lawns in the neighborhood. He later worked at the local Weingarten Grocery Store. David graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1969 and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Houston. With that degree David worked for 38 years at Texas Eastern Products Pipeline and made many life long friends. Though he was incredibly dedicated to his work his passion truly was to learn. He began attending Southern Evangelical Seminary focusing on Apologetics. He was eager to learn and grow in his faith and loved discussing Christianity anywhere he could. David expressed his passion through a blog titled Reasons for Hope.

David served the community and others in many different ways. He was a member of the Promise Keepers where he attended the rally at Washington, D.C. and also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He coached over 2,000 kids during his tenure of coaching youth sports in the Kingwood area. David and his daughter Amy served with a team on two mission trips to Kraslava, Latvia where they taught the kids how to play baseball and led a VBS for the community. David also served as a volunteer photographer for his son's high school football team. David and his wife, Gail, hosted a home bible study for nearly 10 years as well as opened their home to his daughter's youth bible study. David was an avid gardener and always loved photographing nature, in his later years his focus turned to capturing moments with his grandkids.

David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Gail, his three children: Tara Beasley and her husband Jason, Amy Kobialka and her husband Jon, and his son Daniel Work, his four grandkids who were his pride and joy: Connor Joe, Maggie Grace, Clara Mae, and Aaron Micah, his mother, Betty Work, his three brothers: Mike Work and his wife Rhonda, John Work and his wife Kari, Rob Work and his wife Robin, and a host of nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Work. Memorial service will be held at New Covenant Church on Monday, March 15th, 2021 at 11AM. A visitation will begin at 10AM the same day.
