Tammy Lynn Martinez Burnett, age 59 was called home by the Lord on Tuesday January 29, 2019 she was born January 4, 1960 to the late Frank P. Martinez and Jeanette S. M. Minter. Tammy was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Amos Burnett and her brother Frank Edward Martinez. She is survived by her children, Faith Burnett Rutherford and husband Ryan, Franklin Amos Burnett and wife Dana, and Christopher Burnett and wife Amber; brothers David Martinez and Robert “Bobby” Martinez; five grand-daughters, Avery, Emily, Ella, Kimberlyn and Fallyn; her “Darlin” Darl Barnhill; among numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tammy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She cared for several loved ones at the end of their lives and has taken in those who needed a place to stay. She was a true caregiver. She suffered a stroke in October of 2013 and although the doctors said she wouldn’t walk again, she beat the odds and lived a normal life. In April of 2015 she suddenly lost her beloved husband, Amos, of 33 years. Since his passing, she was blessed that God let her find love again with her boyfriend Darl that she calls Darlin. She was an amazing friend and considered most family. She cut hair in Porter for over 30 years, was an entrepreneur and volunteered many years to give back to school haircuts at The Ark Church in Conroe. She was a good, caring, and giving person that countless people loved and admired.
Memorial Service: a Celebration of Life was held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Kingwood, TX at Darst Funeral Home (796 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood, TX 77339)
