OBITUARY

Crawford Michael Scotton, 62, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in the home of his sister in Porter, Texas. He was the son of Crawford Lee Scotton and Patricia Kelley. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he attended Dover Elementary, Washington Middle and Dover High School.

After graduating from high school, Crawford served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1980 and attained the rank of 1st Class Petty Officer. While in the Navy he completed computer training. He earned The National Defense Service Medal, The Good Conduct Award and The Battle “E” USS Will Rogers. Crawford lived in Houston, League City, Baycliff and Porter, Texas. He worked at NASA, and an operator for Dow Chemical.

 

Crawford is survived by his daughter, Ashley Scotton, his mother, Patricia Kelley in Charleston, South Carolina, his sister, Debbie Rodriguez, brother-in-law Victor Rodriguez, his brother, Edward Scotton and his wife Olga. Nieces, Alicia Kellis, Megan Mills, Melissa Rodriguez, Paula Jeffcoat and his nephew Victor Lee Rodriguez. Special friends, Faye and Tom. He is preceded in death by his father, Crawford Lee Scotton.

 

Crawford loved reading, watching baseball especially the New York Yankees, taking care of his dog, AJAX for 10 years. visiting with his family. His most important life achievement was his daughter, Ashley. Crawford will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Darst Funeral Home.

  5. It’s been over 40 years since I saw Mike, we sailed together on the Will Rogers. Mike was a giant then and I’m so sorry I didn’t get to tell him what a incredible human I’ve always thought him to be. Years fade some people from your mind, Mike was not one that could ever fade.
