OBITUARY

Vernon Wallis Falber Jr., ,81, was born in Houston, Texas on September 10, 1937 and entered into rest on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Vernon was the second of three children born to Edith B. Falber and Vernon W. Falber Sr. Growing up he attended Regan High and later went on to attend the University of Houston. After graduation, he began his career serving in the U.S. Coast Guard where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1963. On October 18, 1969, Vernon married Dorothy Falber in Humble, TX. Vernon was raised in the Baptist church and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Houston and previously Sargent Baptist Church and was a member of the #1298 Masonic Lodge.

He was an honest, caring, and simple person. After retirement, he was able to dedicate his time to fishing, playing computer games, playing with pets, talking on the CB radio, and spending time with his family.

Vernon is survived by wife, Dorothy Falber; Sons, Dwayne Falber, Richard Tatom, Joseph Tatom; daughters-in-law, Jannet Falber and Irene Tatom; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; his lifetime friend who trained with him to get his real estate license, Roy Long; and his pet, Bella.

A visitation will be held at Darst Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 9:30am at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Humble, TX.
