Funeral services for Lorene M. Goodwin, 91, of New Caney will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Triumph Christian Center, 21758 E. Hammond Dr., Porter, TX. with Pastor Phil Meadows officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Triumph Christian Center.
Mrs. Goodwin was born February 3, 1929 in Ringgold, Texas to the late Mollie (Wilson) and John Henry Moody, and died Saturday, September 12, 2020.
She moved to Houston when she was 20 years old. Shortly after, she met the love of her life Gary C. Goodwin at church. Lorene and Gary married on August 15, 1952, had 3 children and lived happily together for 40 years.
Lorene retired from South Western Bell in 1992 where she worked for 16 years. Lorene loved Jesus and shared Him with others every chance she got. She was the leader of Triumph Christian Center’s phone prayer ministry. She touched Heaven when she prayed.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary Wayne Goodwin and 4 siblings.
She is survived by her brother, Henry L Moody, children, Buck Goodwin and Cathy Grigsby, 10 grandchildren and 12 great children, a host of nieces and nephews and honorary grandchildren. She will always be loved and greatly missed.
