OBITUARY

Thomas Edward Darcy, 62, of Kingwood TX passed away November 15, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.  Tom was the loving husband of Robin (Gillow) Darcy; they celebrated 37 years of marriage on November 5, 2020. Tom was born in Queens, NY and was the son of the late James and Joan (Mikorski) Darcy.

After moving with his family at the age of 2, he lived the next 40 years in Staten Island, NY where he attended St. Charles Catholic School and was an altar server and boy scout, and graduated high school with the class of 1975 from Moore Catholic High School.

Tom had a long career as an international freight forwarder and ultimately as a manager of regulatory affairs, working for 40 years with the same company – DF Young. Through his many roles within this company, he found his love of traveling which included international travel to some of his most memorable destinations, the Philippines & Sierra Leone.

Tom was a parishioner of St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Previously, when living in Staten Island, NY Tom was honored to serve on the Great Kills Council for K of C, while attending St. Rita’s Catholic Church.  There, he was a member of the Parish Council and baseball director for St. Rita’s  Catholic School Athletic Program, for which he coordinated and helped project manage the building of its baseball field in the 90’s.

Along with his wife, Tom was unendingly supportive and encouraging of the many activities his children participated in, including baseball, soccer, softball, basketball, football, swimming and theater, and made many friends along the way as he attended and cheered everyone on.

When not working or attending family activities, Tom enjoyed golfing, live music and local breweries, going to the dog park with Molly, bowling, and feeding the birds (not so much the squirrels) in his backyard.

Besides his wife, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Sean, Katelyn and Ryan, his brothers, James S. Darcy and wife Carol – Readington, NJ, John Darcy and wife Christine – Kingwood, TX, his sister Katherine Criscuolo and husband Robert – Nazareth, PA and his nieces and nephews: Josh, Sarah, Kyle, Jacob, Luke, Grace and Tricia.  Tom is preceded in death by, and has been reunited with, his son Timothy, parents James & Joan, and nephew Christopher.
