OBITUARY

April Thomas, 67, of Shepherd, TX, born on August 23, 1953 passed away July 14, 2021, with her family by her side at Kingwood Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her father Grady Ernest Carroll, mother Juanita Tise, brother Grady Carroll, and her triplet baby siblings.

April was survived by her husband Orville Thomas, married in 2005, and together for 27 years. She is also survived by her siblings Linda, Paul, David and twin sons: Robert (Eileen) and Donald (Donna) Carroll, step children Donda (Gary) and Orville II of the Houston TX area. Other family members include 5 grandchildren and multiple step and “adopted” grandchildren/great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

April lived a simple life of service, patience, and kindness to everyone she met. She worked in waitressing, then assembly work, and at Walmart in various positions over the years. She was always willing to give of herself to anyone, whether they deserved it or not and give anyone the benefit of the doubt. She was the family historian and ensured all knew she cared and loved them, with frequent communication. She always loved and cared for her 5 grandchildren with all her heart. She had a never ending patience for others even to her own detriment. April allowed many people to live in her home over her lifetime, to help them get back on their feet, for as long as they needed it. She was the best friend to many short term and life-long friends, who loved her to death. She was also a second/adopted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother to her step-children and close family friends.
