December 6, 1945 - December 4, 2021
Sharon Kay Steiger was sadly lost to us far too soon at the age of 75. Her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will be sorely missed, but at the same time we know that Heaven has grown so
much brighter with her smile.
Sharon loved many things: singing and playing hymns, working in the library, helping others at any time, and her seemingly never-ending supply of cats and kittens. But overwhelmingly, her
greatest loves were her family: her husband Steve of 30 years, her eldest daughter Tiffany, and her son Richard. Her impact on their lives and on this world will never be forgotten. We will
miss her infectious smile and her charming laugh, and the way she could brighten a room with just her presence.
Through hard work, she earned her Master’s degree in Education through the University of Houston. As a teacher and librarian in the Aldine School District for 44 years, Sharon touched
countless people in her journey through this life. Her selflessness continued after her retirement as she volunteered her time and energy at various schools and offered patient help and support to others.
We are so saddened by her sudden passing, as we know how much more love and support she would have happily given to the world. But it is comforting to know that Sharon IS a woman of
immense and sincere faith, because we are confident that one day we will meet again in Heaven.
Sharon was born December 6th, 1945 to Lynwood and Lois Post and passed on December 4th, 2021. She is survived by her husband Steven L. Steiger, elder brother L. Jay Post, sister-in-law S.
Janie Post, daughter Tiffany Lois Gatchel, son Richard A. Gatchel, daughter-in-law Tiffany Victoria Gatchel, adopted daughter Ash R. Baker, and many close extended family members.
