OBITUARY

Lorraine Miyuki White was born on November 17, 1975 in Topeka, Kansas to Mary Jo and Teruyoshi White. Lovingly named after her second cousin Lorraine Belle Johnson, she was the fifth of nine children. Lorraine’s light was extinguished on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was blessed to have all of her family surrounding her when she passed.

She is survived by her four children, George Lewis Tyler Cady, Elizabeth Marie Parrish-Lorcy, Megan Taylor White and Hana Ariana Henderson, Her Granddaughter Madison Cady Welsh as well as her eight siblings; Teresa, Katherine, Patrick, Christina, Anitra, Antonette, Pamela and Samantha. Her mother Mary White, and Father Teruyoshi White.

She attended Spring Hill Elementary in Kansas. Shotwell Middle School and Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas. She completed her GED in 2007. After which, she started studying English at Austin Community College where she also joined Phi Theta Kappa. She obtained her Associate’s degree in English in 2012. Later, she continued her English studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

She was most recently employed by Laudadio Polymers, Inc. She often worked as a bartender, a job she enjoyed because it allowed her to meet new and interesting people.

Throughout her life, she lived in Spring Hill Kansas and Houston, Austin, Cedar Park, and Kingwood, Texas.

Lorraine was raised in the Catholic faith. She was Baptized at St. John’s in Kansas. She had her first communion at Notre Dame and was confirmed at Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Texas.

Lorraine worked with the catholic volunteer service Fishes and Loaves, making sandwiches for low-income families. She started participating in cancer awareness after losing her good friend Chase Bell to cancer before she was diagnosed herself.

Significant men in her life included Brett Cady, Rick Parrish, Matt Henderson, Ken Navarro and Joey Teats. She was a fun-loving and very friendly person. While her list of friends is long, some of her most cherished childhood friends included Tyler Hedden, Kiva and Kayla Watkin, Steven Scobey, Mike “Big Mike” Zielinski, and Mike, Danny, and Gabe Ramos. Her family friends aka “Adopted Sisters” consist of Heather Rowe and Renee Perez. Some of her cherished adulthood friends included Chase Bell, Rhonda Higley, Jerry Lynn, Jayne Lynn, Kristi Holguin, Carol Wilhiem, Deacon Tony Cardella and his wife Laurie.

Lorraine was outgoing, adventurous, charismatic, fun, and strong-willed until the very end. She should have become a lawyer because she loved to passionately debate everything. Her favorite thing to do as a child was to help her mother plant flowers. Her favorite flower was the petunia.

She was the family’s Cupid because she introduced Christina to Russell Potocki, Anitra to John Collins, and Antonette to Edmond Vahedi, all of whom ended up being perfect matches.

Lorraine loved being creative, especially drawing, a skill and passion which she passed to all four of her children. She was also a creative inspiration to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, doing DIY projects, and sewing. She was passionate about the outdoors and loved camping, fishing, swimming, running, and more. She was equally passionate about nature and she enjoyed interacting with all living things. She also enjoyed taking in dogs that needed a loving home. Lorraine loved watching football, listening to all types of music, playing games with her family, reading, and doing her nails.

Some of her most precious life events included her baptism, the birth of her sister’s children, obtaining her associate’s degree, doing a BBQ tour of Texas, the 5K races she won, including one for Komen for the Cure, watching the Kansas City Chiefs win the Superbowl in 2020, some of her travels to various state parks, especially the Rio Grande River, Guadalupe Peak and New Mexico.

Finally, her most precious memory of all is her trip to the Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming, where she has requested that her ashes be spread by her children.

We offer up our prayers for God to welcome Lorraine White into heaven.

  1. My condolences to all the family. Sorry I didn’t get to make the memorial but the service at the funeral home was very nice. Lorraine was one of my few friends. I met her thru my son, Thurman who she was friends with her & around the same age. She had come over to our house for barbecue a few times before. We had great times. After she found out about the cancer & her surgery, I took her to her therapy & to MRI’s, etc. a few times along with her other friends who did also. I came to love her like a sister & yes we had our differences too, like everyone. We all are different in our own ways. I’ll never forget Lorraine!! I am very sad that this happened to her! See you soon Lorraine!

  2. So rorry to hear about this so late. She was there for me during a really rough time in my life. I had the pleasure of taking her to some appointments during her time of need . When she moved to porter we didn’t talk much . She was always such a positive light .
