Given to frequent acts of kindness to friends and strangers alike. Known to call loved ones out of the blue…. just to say I love you. Son of Jim and Alice Ames. Brother to Janie, Julie, and Jeff. Husband to Ruthie Ames. Father of David, Gabriel, Steven and Daniel. Grandfather to Anthony, David, Mateo, Emilio, Eli, Gabriel Miguel, Evan, Michael, and Bonnie. As no man is ever an island, Jimmy was to his friends and family a man full of love who touched each of their lives with the uniqueness that could have only be done by his hand. Now in the presence of his God, insulated from the slings and arrows of this life, does he rest in peace and mercy. How fortunate are we to have known him, love him, and share our lives with him that our lives on this earth were not blessed by what he gave of himself to us all. We shall not look upon his likeness again, but will cherish and hold dear the memory of his life in our hearts.
Reception: A celebration of life was held on 2015-07-25 at Darst Funeral Home. A sharing of food and fond memories in the gardens will be continuous throughout the day
