OBITUARY

Rosemarie Beard, age 67, went home to be with The Lord after a long battle with cancer, Wednesday December 9th at 5:30 p.m. at her home in New Caney, Texas.

Rosemarie was born on March 30, 1948 in Houston, Texas to John Anthony Lockey and Marie Pauline Tucker. Growing up she lived in the Heights. She attended and graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Houston Texas in 1967. After graduation she spent some time in Europe. She enjoyed all of the beauty the different countries had to offer. On July 14, 1977 she became a proud parent to her son William Scott Cikalo. Rosemarie was so proud to be a momma that she gave birth to her daughter Arrieann Marie Beard on Thanksgiving day in 1981. Over the next several decades she enjoyed her life with her family and friends.  She attended church at Prince of Peace. She was the worlds greatest Nana to her grandchrildren. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. Not only was she a wonderful grandmother to her 6 beautiful grandchildren, she was also a foster grandmother to over 10 children. She was so proud to be their Nana even if just for a short time. Her heart was full of such love. She truly enjoyed spending time with the Lord. She also deeply enjoyed gathering with her family for birthday parties and holidays.  Christmas was one of her most favoriate times of the year. She really enjoyed the season of giving. She was such a generous giver. Giving gifts to her family brought great joy to her heart.

Rosemarie worked at HEB for over 22 years. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandkids. She was always there for her family when someone was in need. Rosemarie will be deeply missed, but will always be remembered for the love and care she gave to each one of us.

Rosemarie is survived by her sisters and brothers: Joanna Wilson, Yvonne Gority, Donnie Lockey, David Lockey, Barbara Hooper; children, Scott Cikalo (Kristina) and Arrieann Sweat (John);grandkids who affectionately called her Nana: Toriann, Alexandria, Kameron, Cody, Tara, and Sadie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert (Bobby) Lockey and Paul Lockey.

Service Information

Visitation: A vigil and rosary was held on 2015-12-19 at Darst Funeral Home. A Rosary recite will start at 6:30 p.m.
