Braly, Brenda G

1960 ~
 2014

OBITUARY

Brenda passed from this life into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on May 28, 2014.  She was born March 2, 1960, in Houston, TX to Robert Dorris and the late Elizabeth (Betty) Joyce Braly.

rn

Brenda was a devoted Christian with a loving, caring spirit.  She had a beautiful soprano voice and was active in her church throughout her youth and early adult years.  Her strong Christian faith carried her through many low points.  Seldom was she without a smile on her face, and she always had a remarkably positive attitude.

rn

The dominant characteristic of most of her life was her devotion to her family.  She spent most of her adult life caring first for her mother, and later helping her father.  Most of the time spent caring for her mother was 24-7, to the exclusion of any outside life.

rn

Brenda graduated in 1978 from Sharpstown High School and then attended Houston Baptist University.  Brenda was a member of the outstanding Elu-ta-Ma-Tan-da Camp Fire Girls group for 10 years (1968-1978) where she obtained the highest award, the WoHeLo Medallion.  She was a successful and cherished secretary to several CEOs in the Oil and Gas industry.

rn

One of the greatest joys of Brenda’s life was the 1998 trip to Scotland with her mother to meet her mother’s pen-pal of 62 years.  “Ten days of pure joy that simply cannot be put into words, but only felt in our hearts!” was how her mother described this near-lifelong dream they experienced together.

rn

She is survived by her loving father Robert D. Braly; devoted and caring brother Craig B. Braly; second mother and namesake in Aberfeldy, Scotland, Grace Moyes; and Grace’s daughter, Gail Elizabeth Fertacz, in Dalgety Bay, Scotland.
