November 27, 1963 - December 14, 2016
Donald Holub Bratcher, 53, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 after a brief illness. Don was born on November 27, 1963 at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas to Thomas Holland Bratcher, Jr. and Carol Holub Bratcher. He grew up in the Oak Forest neighborhood in Houston and attended Waltrip High School. He was an auto mechanic and spent most of his adult life living in Magnolia, Texas. Don enjoyed fishing and cheering on his favorite teams, Houston Cougars, Oilers, Texans and Astros. Don had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand. He found joy in sharing old movies, beautiful sunsets and night skies with family and friends.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Tom (Teresa) Bratcher, John (Rory) Bratcher; sons, Michael Smith, Matthew Smith; grandchildren, Kira Hoop, Hayden Smith, Haley Smith, Holden Smith, Kennedy Smith; nieces and nephews, Christyn Bratcher, Brandon Bratcher, Carson Bratcher, Reese Bratcher; and, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will dearly miss him. Don is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Margaret Bratcher, Tom and Columbia Holub; and, his nephew, Thomas Bratcher IV.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2301 S Houston Rd., Pasadena, TX 77502 . In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Mr. Don Bratcher’s honor to Faith Presbyterian Church.
