Leonard M. Cano Jr, 76, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 5, 2017. Leonard was born in Houston, Texas on November 19, 1940 to Leonard and Lupe Cano. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Rudy Cano; and three sisters, Virginia Avalos, Esther Caballero, and Carmen Gomez. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dolores Cano; his four sons, Michael L. Cano, Leonard Cano III, Jesse Cano and wife Marie; and daughter Theresa Gutierrez and husband Roy, and by his 8 grandchildren, Mario Zambrano Jr., Danny Zambrano, Carlos Zambrano and wife Jessica, Dalia Cano, Ceslie Guerrero and husband Cesar, Cierra Cano, Ashton Cano, and Mathew Cano. He is also survived by his brother Richard Cano and wife Carmen, and four sisters, Raquel Navarro, Mary Rodriguez, Olivia Velasquez and husband Sam, and Yolanda Mendoza and husband Jesse, as well as his 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 2:00pm to 6:30pm and a Rosary at 6:30pm at Darst Funeral Home 796 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, TX 77339. There will be a mass in his honor at Assumption Catholic Church 901 E. Roseland Houston, TX, on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 11:30AM.
