Coley Jerald Williams passed away on June 20, 2022 at Park Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Humble, Texas at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgia; daughters, Valerie (Ed Hilla)and Sarah and brother, Jack Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents, Coley and Gertrude Williams and sisters, Ora Joy Rushing and Maudie Edwards.
Coley graduated from The University of Texas with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He began his life-long career with Shell Oil Company in Deer Park, Texas. In 1967, after working at the corporate headquarters in New York City and a few years in Los Angeles, Coley relocated his family to Kingwood, Texas where they still reside. Coley and Georgia have been members of Kingwood United Methodist Church since the mid 70’s where Coley served as an usher and also served on several committees. He was a voracious reader of mystery novels. In addition to reading, he loved traveling the world with his dear wife and often with friends from the church. Coley and Georgia often took “educational” trips with Roads Scholar, soaking up information about the culture and food of the locals. He quietly took advantage of his good health, good retirement and lived an adventuresome life.
Coley’s funeral will be held at Kingwood United Method Church on Tuesday, June 28 at 10am. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that those wishing to make a memorial to please consider a donation to Kingwood United Methodist Church or the Society of St. Stephens.
