OBITUARY

George Ross Dunham—known as Ross to family and friends—was born September 16, 1947, in Troy, New York, to George and Lorraine Dunham. He discovered running at an early age (mostly due to missing the bus after milking his 4-H cows). Running became one of his great loves and a part of his daily life.

After graduation from Hoosic Valley High School, Ross received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated in 1969 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

Ross attended flight school and became a C-130 pilot. During this time, he met his future wife, Donna, and they were married May 26, 1974.

Ross served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years, retiring as a Major in 1990. His “retirement” included working as a Realtor with Texas Realty and Management Co. and as a history professor at Lone Star Community College.

Ross was the proud father of two daughters, Jessica Rae and Rebekah Renee. His son-in-law joined the family when Jessica married Jason Wilson in 2009.

In addition to being survived by Donna, Jessica, Rebekah, and Jason, Ross is also survived by his brother Terry Dunham and his wife Sue, nephew Chris Dunham, niece Gretchen Dunham, and his aunt, Lois Cook.

Final inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
