OBITUARY

Linda Marie Dupler, daughter of William and Margaret Trout, was born on October 14th, 1941 in Cleveland, OH. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 at Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood, TX at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 4 days.

Linda grew up in Cleveland, OH and received her formal education attending Ohio University in Athens, OH majoring in education. On June 22, 1964 she was united in marriage with Edgar Dee Dupler in Cleveland, Ohio. Linda’s professional calling in life was teaching children, something which she loved to do and found extremely rewarding. She received her initial teaching certification from the State of Ohio in 1963. After moving to Texas in 1976, Linda taught mathematics at both New Caney Intermediate and Splendora Middle School until her retirement in 1998.

Linda had unwavering faith in God and was very involved in her church. She was one of the founding members of Lamb Of God (Humble) and was also very involved at Christ The King in Kingwood. Linda was an active member of YAH (Young At Heart) and was also a certified Stephen Minister. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and made many lifelong friends at church.

Linda was an accomplished artist who was specialized in ceramics, crochet, needlepoint, quilting and painting. She was also an extremely voracious reader who would buy books by the dozens.
Anyone who knew Linda was acutely aware of her love of animals. The Dupler house was full of hamsters, birds, gerbils, lizards, rabbits, dogs and cats. Her beloved cat Oliver, her constant companion for the last 11 years, misses her immensely and is now under the vigilant care of her granddaughter Erin.

Linda’s greatest love and enthusiasm in life was her family and she especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and following all of their various activities. Linda instilled in them the same steadfast faith in God, strong ethical foundation and hard work ethic she instilled in her own children (Michael, Meghan and Matthew).

Proceeding her in death were her parents, William and Margaret Trout, her brother William Trout, and her husband, Edgar Dee Dupler.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Michael Pauer Dupler and his wife DeeAnn of Grand Island, NE; Meghan Marie Mastellis and her husband Doug of Pensacola, FL; and Matthew William Dupler and his wife Mandi of Montgomery, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren – Austin, Addisyn, Nate, Brandon, Blake, Megan, Faith, Erin, and William as well as many relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Her children would like to especially thank all of her friends at Kingwood Senior Village who were a second family to her. Several of them comforted her during her final moments on earth for which we are eternally grateful.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be a private celebration of her life with immediate family in early Spring at the Houston Veteran’s Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Dee of 57 years.

“Bless this world with your mind, heal the world with your heart, lift the world with your soul; elevate the world with your life”. Rest in Peace Mom. We love you !!!

  1. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Linda. She and I were in college at the same time in the 60’s. I also lived in the Cleveland area and often would receive a ride home when your dad stopped in Athens to pick up Linda. They were true soulmates! Linda and I had kept in touch over the years and had talked as recently as this past Christmas. It was a shock to learn of her passing on Facebook. I will miss her!
