Emelia was born on a Saturday evening to parents Jazmine Rideb and Jean Paul Petrel on October 24th, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is known to all her family and friends as: “Emmie”, “Emmie P”, “Stinker”, and most of all her mom’s “little baby”. To know her was to know pure and unconditional love. Her presence filled the room with awe and laughter as she amazed us with each new milestone she passed. She was an avid follower of all things Cocomelon, Charlie’s Colorform City, Shrek, and Toy Story. Her days were filled chasing bubbles, eating fruits two hands at a time, swinging in the front yard, playing piano, organizing then re-organizing all the cabinet contents, and wearing only her left shoe. Emelia Pia Rideb Petrel earned her angel wings on July 19, 2022; she was 1 year & 8 months.
Emmie told us all what to do even without saying a word, a natural-born leader, no one could say no to her long eyelashes batting away a tear or a slight frown beginning to form. She took cuddle time seriously and only wanted the warmest shoulders and the best legs to hold on to. When her beautiful big eyes met yours and she chose you to have and to hold her, it was a feeling that was indescribably special and sacred. Words on a page will never be able to fully capture her essence and the light she brought to this earth.
Emmie is survived by her parents, Jazmine Rideb and Paul Petrel; grandparents Papa Joel and Grandma Lin, Papa Jeff and Sheila, Grandma Maggie Petrel and Grandpa JP; Godmother/Nina Jeraldine Rideb; aunts and uncles Jenise and Jeremy Rideb Koshiro, Jay Peter and Michelle Rideb, Jernie Rideb and Susan Urbina, Landen, Xander, and Zoey Stevenson, in addition to a host of adoring relatives and friends

My 92 year-old Mother’s obituary is posted right above this one. I cried when I read it. God bless the Family. What a terrible loss. She is in Heaven.
What a beautiful little girl! I do not know your family, but, I wanted to send my condolences to You. Please read John chapter 11 in your Bible, you will find true comfort and hope. Jesus said he is the resurrection and the life. Emilia has the wonderful hope of a resurrection to enjoy the real life. (John 5:28,29)
