OBITUARY

Arminda (Minda) Felan Falcon, 82 of Houston, Texas passed away after a lengthy illness on March 27, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at Darst Funeral Home at 719 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood, Texas at 12:00pm, Saturday, April 4, 2015,
to be followed by a reception for friends and family.

Minda was born in Victoria, Texas to Raymond and Josephine Felan on November 5, 1932.  She attended John H. Reagan High School, where she
was  active in choir and Glee Club.  She graduated high school in 1951 and attended business school.

Minda began her career at Becker’s Jewelry Store in downtown Houston.  She was employed there for 10 years before leaving to become a full-time homemaker.

In 1954, her sister Gloria introduced her to her brother-in-law Abel Falcon.  It was love at first sight.  She and Abel began an 18 month long courtship.
Being a romantic, Abel proposed to Minda after taking her to see “Love is a Many Splendored Thing”.  They were married at Saint Theresa’s Catholic
Church on August 5, 1956.

On August 11, 1959, they welcomed their first daughter Karen.  Karen was their pride and joy until the birth of their twin daughters, Laurie and Annette
on January 24, 1960.  With their hands full, they welcomed their fourth daughter, Susan on October 11, 1962.  Minda’s mother Josephine loved caring
for her granddaughters and was a great help to Minda during the early years of their childhood.  In 1967, their fifth daughter Stephanie was born and
their youngest daughter Minda Ann (Mindy) was born on May 26, 1969.

In 1975,  Minda began her career with the Houston Independent School District.  After 23 years of service, she retired in 1998.  She enjoyed gardening,
baking, shopping and exploring the Texas countryside with her girls.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Minda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Josephine Felan and her husband of 31 years, Abel R. Falcon.

Minda is survived by her sisters, Gloria Falcon and Virginia Rylander of Houston, Texas; six daughters, Karen (Chris) Wakefield of Houston,Texas,
Laurie (John) Venable of Pace, Florida, Annette (Ricky) Delgado of Lago Vista, Texas, Susan (David) Gomez of San Antonio, Texas, Stephanie (Greg) Hansen of Stafford, Texas and Minda (Michael) Bryant of Porter, Texas;  eleven grandchildren Ryan Beisert, Shannon Delgado, Brandon Venable,
Eric Delgado, Kristina Guerra, Amanda Sepulveda, Meagan Cano, Justin Turner, Ian Turner, Cara Wakefield and Lauren Trejo; 13 great-grandchildren;
nieces Cynthia Herrera and Rebecca (Becky) Courtney; nephews Ronald Falcon, Richard Falcon and Kenneth Rylander.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.  The family greatly appreciates the love and support given during this very difficult time.  They also wish to thank the staff at Vita Hospice for the care they provided their mother in her final days.
