Anita was preceded in death by her husband James, mother Grace and father Versel. She is survived by her two loving sons, Chance Coleman Gilbert, wife Joan and children Val and Connor of Huntsville, Chad Brandon Gilbert of Huffman, her sister Marian and husband Dan Spence of The Woodlands, her brother Maurice and wife Dana Coleman of Trinity, her brother Lynn and wife Vicki Coleman of Trinity and sister Debbie and husband Steve Ratcliff of Conroe.

Anita was born June 30th, 1947 to Grace Helena Jurgensen Coleman and Versel Maurice Coleman and raised in Clute, TX. She graduated from Brazosport High School, Class of ’65 and attended Texas Woman’s  University in Denton.

Anita filled her life with many activities.  She was an active member of Lake Houston United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed the women’s church group.  She was very active in her community. She was a member of the Garden Club, and was successful in the business ventures she chose such as Avon where she won many sales awards.  She worked for Procorp in The Woodlands, Tx for over 10 years , she then went to work for Spence and Associates for over 8 years. This was not a job to Anita.  Her creativeness let her fulfill her passion for floral designing and decorating for parties and special occasions.  She had a wonderful talent and was very modest about it. Her many other talents also include her great joy for cooking. Anita’s cooking was a way of expressing her love.  Her friends and family were always amazed at how she could cook anything from home cooking to gourmet with ease.

Anita touched the lives of so many through her zest for life, great sense of humor, caring heart and her love of family and friends.   The friendships Anita acquired over the years we’re enduring because of her deep love and loyalty. Anita was and always will be remembered  as a warm, intelligent, remarkable lady that will be missed and loved by her family, friends and her beloved dog “Sasha”.  She leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her and will be greatly missed but will live in their hearts and memories.  We love you now, always and forever.
