He was born on October 12, 1958 in Panama City, Florida to the late Johnny Douglas Greene and Pauline Myra Rose.  When he was three, his mother moved the family to England where he attended elementary and high school. After living in England during his formative years, Alan entered the United States Army in his early twenties.  Alan loved the United States and rejected his English citizenship to serve as a Ranger in the Army.

In addition to his love of country, he was passionate about his career creating award-winning, beautiful landscapes and water gardens for clients in both Dallas and Houston, Texas. His designs attracted many prestigious players on the Cowboys football team and earned critical acclaim among his peers in the industry. His work was recognized as Best Water Feature Display in 2004 by The Dallas House and Landscape Show. He received the Top Customer Award in 2001-2004 by Aquascape Designs, Inc. and achieved 3rd place in Commercial Display awarded in 2001 by International Exhibitions, Inc.  He was very proud of his own yard and received many compliments (and referrals) from people driving by his house.

Alan is probably best known for his love of the Cowboys and his fascination with wolves. He missed many a Thanksgiving feast to enjoy his beloved Cowboys win or lose. Visitors to the Greene home are greeted by the silver-star logo of the Cowboys on the rug by the fireplace and wolf scenes on every wall. Known to be a very quiet man, his quick wit and dry humor were a surprise to all who met him and qualities people came to appreciate as they got to know him. His sense of humor and kindness are what his wife, Erin, and daughter, Neina, will miss most.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Greene, Alan is survived by his wife, Erin Frances Rust Greene, and daughter Neina Rose Greene of Kingwood, Texas in addition to a half-brother, Robert Courtney Doak, of Jersey, England, and a stepsister, Sharron Skrzypkowski, of Sarasota, Florida.
