Gruver, Reedie

I was born to Christian parents. I always knew God was, but I didn’t know God personally until I was 13 years old. My parents counseled me to wait until I was older but on that SPECIAL SUNDAY service, I couldn’t wait. I had to go forward right then. I accepted the Lord at Centerville Baptist Church in Leggett, Texas.

I began teaching when I was 17 years old and I had a special love for little children and old people. I taught in Leggett and Benbrook Baptist in Ft Worth, and Broadway Baptist Temple, in Houston. I also worked with children at Depelchin Children’s Home in Houston for 5 years. Due to health problems in my family, I retired from teaching after 25 years. After my teaching time, I helped in a mission sponsored by Broadway Baptist Temple for 5 more years and helped conduct a Bible Study for the same church for a number of years.

My husband and I are now members of Whispering Meadows Baptist Church where we have spent may happy hours in fellowship with its wonderful spirit-filled members and we feel the calling of the Lord in our being there. The children are precious and eager to learn.

So I end my life’s story with the apostle Paul in saying “I have fought the good fight I have finished my course, I have keep the faith and hereafter is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day.”

Until we meet again, Precious Memories.
