Hammond, Dennis L

Dennis Lee Hammond was born on August 6, 1946 in Waupaca, WI to Harold Edward Pyer and Virginia Anne Wied, and passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Kingwood, TX. Virginia later married Charles Alfson Hammond who later adopted Dennis and his siblings. Prior to the adoption he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Fred and Nell Grahms. He was a hardworking, loyal, and dedicated man to those he served and worked for. Dennis proudly served as a Marine in the Vietnam War earning several decoration and medals such as, National Defense Service Medal (1st Award), Vietnam Service Medal (w/1*), Vietnam Campaign Medal (w/60-), and Rifle Marksman Badge. Later he continued his career for over 40 years for Continental Airline/United, was part of the Hammond Farm Cheese Manufacturing Co., and helped with numerous Houston area Farmers Markets. He will be greatly missed by those who had the honor of working and knowing him.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Julie Hammond; children: Patrick Hammond and wife Sherry, Timothy Hammond, Kimberly Hammond, and Kevin Stagg; grandchildren: Kylie Hammond, Tristian Hammond, Makayla Wymer, Victoria Wymer, Calib Hammond, Bella Hammond, and Robyn Marrian; sisters: Judith Anne Otterson and husband Gordon, Sandra Lee Jensen, Sandra Lee Pyer; brother, Larry Edward Hammond and wife Cheryl; mother in law, Dolores McClere; along with numerous, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation: A visitation was held on 2016-04-15 at The Gardens at Darst Funeral Home. Business Casual Attire as we are celebrating Dennis's life outside
