Harold Edwin Hutchinson

February 1, 1945 - August 24, 2022

Harold “Hutch” Hutchinson’s life began in Missouri as the middle son of three boys to share crop farmers, Willard and Virginia Hutchinson. His love of life didn’t come to an end with his death on Wednesday Aug 24, 2022 at age 77 at his family’s home, surrounded by family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Harold enlisted in the Air Force in 1967 as a weapons maintenance technician.  He served bravely in Vietnam War. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering during night school at Auburn University, Alabama. Upon graduation, Harold attended Air Force Officer Training School, thus commissioning as a US Air Force officer as an information systems engineer. He valiantly served as a Captain until early retirement in 1985, receiving Air Force Commendations Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and several other awards and medals. Upon retiring Harold began multiple endeavors in real estate and antiques.  Three years later he suffered a sudden loss of his first wife Leonora, with which he had two daughters: Laura & Michelle.

With God’s grace he met the love of his life in 1993, Barbara Martin. They were instantly inseparable and passionately in love. This whirlwind romance carried over even with their business, The Antique Hutch in Porter and Kingwood, Tx. Harold married Barbara in 1999. During the union Harold gained more beautiful stepdaughters: Lisa, Tracy, and Amy.

Harold enjoyed serving his community through charitable adventures. He served with Village Learning Center, Familytime, VFW, Rotary Club, and various missions through Second Baptist church of Kingwood. He enjoyed movies, construction, dancing, country music, snarky humor, card games, teaching, Whataburger buddies and Walking Together Bible study group. Harold had the uncanny ability to find positive optimism as he served the Lord daily.

Harold is survived by Barbara Hutchinson, Christine Hutchinson, Jerry & Laura Holder, William & Michelle McDade, David & Lisa Walsh, Kevin & Tracy Waterfallen and Amy Martin.
