Joe Dye

December 3, 1943 - October 20, 2022

After a long battle with cancer Joe D. Dye passed away on Thursday October 20th, 2022 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife by his side. We would like to thank Victoria and Regina his nurses from hospice plus, you made a big impression on Joe, and we are forever grateful for the comfort that you provided.

Joe was born on December 3rd 1943 in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was Preceded in Death by his parents Esry Dye and Evelyn (Scott) Dye and was 1st of 5 children.  He had a thriving career as a front-end suspension specialist and retired in March of 2022 after working at Northwest Chassis Service in Houston, Texas for over 25 years and Axel & Wheel in Pasadena, Texas for 30+ years.

He lived in Spring, Texas with His wife of 21 years Becky Dye (Van Keuren).  He was survived by his siblings Ann (Larry) Burke, Sheila (Butch) Hatten, Charlie (Linda) Dye, Joyce (David) Gray. His Children Sherry (Joey) Steinecke, Joe Jr (Teresa) Dye, Larry Dye, Richard (Stephanie) Dye, his two stepchildren: Eric (Tracy) Van Keuren, Marie (Ken) Combs and his 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was a family man who was funny, honest and straight forward. He was honorably discharge from the US Air Force after serving 4 years back in the 1960’s. He loved being at home and hanging out outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed camping in his trailer with his wife and his two trusty dogs Pooch and Roxie.

You will be in our hearts forever!

A funeral service will be held at Darst Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
