OBITUARY

John (Johnny) Davison Fleming was born January 24, 1952 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Richard and Joan Fleming. He passed away at home in Kingwood, Texas on April 16, 2022.

John grew up in Ohio and graduated from Ohio University, after which he moved to Houston to work in the oil industry and found a home in Kingwood, Texas. He was always interested in technology and computers. John enjoyed nature and spent time throughout his life backpacking, camping, whitewater rafting, gardening, cycling, and studying local birds. His hobbies also included sketching, painting, photography, woodcraft, studying history, and engaging friends and family in a good debate. John loved children and was a proud father. He was a dedicated member of Kingwood United Methodist Church and an enthusiastic leader in Boy Scout Troop 1377.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son Thad Fleming and partner Jessamine Elliott; daughter Kaylea Van Wettering and husband Neil; sisters Lorayne (Loni) Fuller of Allen, Texas and Catherine (Cathi) Ratay and husband Wayne of Lemont, Illinois; cousin Barbie Looney and children Roni and David; niece Jennie Hamrick and husband Justin; nephews Alex Fuller and wife Jane, Christopher Ratay and wife Kayanne, Ricky Fuller and wife Myra, and Bryan Ratay; and several grand-nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will be at Kingwood United Methodist Church on May 21 at 10 AM.
