OBITUARY

John Franklin Miller Jr, a proud Texan and owner for over 45 years of Northwoods Pool Supply, Inc went to heaven surrounded by his family at his home in Kingwood on October 15, 2022.

John Franklin Miller Jr was born in Houston, TX to parents John F Miller Sr. & Nannie Helen Miller on June 6, 1958 who both preceded him in death. John was raised in Humble, TX and graduated with the class of 1977 from Humble High School. John attended University of Arizona to pursue his dream of being an Olympic Water Polo player. John had a tremendous career in the Water Polo field which immediately started his love of water. As well, at an early age John was an entrepreneur who started a business, Northwoods Pool Supply. It was at a swimming pool convention where he met the love of his life, Suzanne. John & Suzanne were married on November 5, 1983. Their adventure began with a wild honeymoon in Jamaica which would be their last international travel.  John was a devoted father and avid fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors and he enjoyed always teaching anyone a new trait/skill. He was a spiritual man who was not afraid to talk about God and was not afraid to pray. He loved the history channel and talking politics. John could light up a room with his smile and his laugh was contagious. John was known just like his father always to be able to tell you a wildly entertaining stories. John had an unfailing work ethic and a willingness to come at anytime to help anyone in need. He was blessed to have any friends that in his heart he loved like family.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Suzanne Miller; his 2 children John F. Miller III (Chelsea) and Johzanne L Miller; his 3 grandchildren who referred to him as Pop-Pop –  Colby, Cambri, & Channing; his 3 grand fur babies Jameson, Bailey, & Maxi Woods; his sister Glenda McClellan (Phillip); his mother-in-law Ruth Stringer; his sister-in-law Michelle Scales: his treasured nieces and nephews; his great-nephews & great nieces; and many loving relatives & friends. John is survived by honoree family Brandi Bertrand & family, Brittany Iqbal & family, Wes Darsey & family, and Mike Heil & family. John is preceded in death by his parents, his grand-fur baby Jack Daniels Miller, and his father in-law Bobby Joe Stringer.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on October 29, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer Rd., Kingwood, TX 77339. A reception will occur after the service at Johns’ second home at Northwoods Pool Supply Inc, 2103 North Houston Avenue, Humble, TX 77338.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Darst Funeral Home Garden, 796 Russell Palmer Rd., Kingwood, TX 77339.

  1. we are so sorry to hear of Johnny’s passing. He was a good friend and such a great help to us over the years with our pool. We will miss his cheerfulness and good humor. Rest in peace, Johnny.
