Polly’s  younger years were in Magazine, Arkansas, Elk City, Oklahoma and then on to Rogers, Arkansas, where she met Chester at the age of 21.  They were married on April 10, 1948.  They moved several times throughout her husband’s career, anywhere from Louisiana, Kansas, Nebraska, back to Kansas, Washington, back again to Kansas, Philadelphia, and finally to California where he retired.  Polly and Chester returned to their home town where they lived for several years.

As Polly never let any grass grow under her feet, traveling was in her blood. They joined a RV rally group..a very adventurous group I might say so myself.  They spent more time in their RV than they did at their place of residence  while going anywhere to Alaska, to all over the United States.

rn

They then decided to move to Houston, Texas where their two daughters were and where she spent the rest of her life.

Polly was like a little bullet, full of spit fire, feisty, oodles of personality.  She was an avid reader and the TV was always on a news channel.  There was never a topic to be discussed that she wasn’t abreast on.  As she loved clothes and her high heel sandals, she made Chester take her all around to shop.  Just to give them something to do, she would just drum up an excuse to get out, even if to just return something.

Due to Chester’s illness, they left Kingwood and  moved to The Forum skilled nursing facility and Polly was able to be in independent living.  Her apartment had a gorgeous view that she loved to look out her window.

And that is where she died at approximately 2:00am on February 15, 2015.  She did it her way.  She wanted to die in that apartment , not in a hospital or skilled nursing, and she wanted to just die in her sleep.  The good Lord blessed her with her wishes and now she is in Heaven.
