After a protracted battle with cancer, Joshua Luke Jones passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 in Alvin, TX at the age of 15. His family and close friends were by his side as he drifted off to be with the Lord and his mom.

Joshua was born on March 14, 2002 in Spring, TX to mother Nicole Jones, who predeceased him. Josh lived most of his life at Texas Children’s Hospital because at the age of 6, he was diagnosed with cancer. He was a fighter and he fought to the very end.

Joshua enjoyed playing with Lego’s, video games, and his IPad but what he enjoyed the most was being around his family and friends or anyone who could keep a smile on his face. Even though Josh was the one who was sick, he always managed to be the kindest, sweetest child with the most uplifting of spirits. He would remind others daily how to not sweat the small stuff, just by his upbeat energy and positive attitude.

Joshua was preceded in death by his loving mother Nicole Jones, grandfather John “Russell” Jones and great-grandfather Harvey “Snake” Wheat.

He is survived by his grandmother/caregiver Peggy Jones, biological father Kyle Short, “Daddy” Greg Pearson, step-grandmother Debbie Jones, grandmother Debra Lutz, great-grandparents Georgia Heidel and husband Chet, John P. and Cleonice Jones, uncle Blake Jones and wife Luzalana, aunt Crystal Popp and husband Christopher, cousins Nicolas and Layla Jones, Godfather Steven Robbins, Godmother Kristin Rankin and husband Cliff, numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.

The services in Texas will be held at Spring Baptist Church Spring, TX. The viewing will be Wednesday 5:00-8:00, Thursday 12:00-3:00 and 3:00 funeral services, officiated by Pastor Barry Klempnauer and Pastor Tim Young. The services in Louisiana will be held at Cornerstone Church Livingston, La. The viewing will be Friday 5:00-8:00, Saturday 12:00-2:00 and 2:00 funeral services, officiated by Pastor Clint Mitchell.
