Earl R. Keeling

Born: July 25, 1943 at Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky at 1:07 AM, the son of Mabel Modena Keeling and Leslie K. Keeling.  Attended I.N. Bloom and Longfellow Elementary Schools and Highland Junior High School in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated in 1958.  Attended DuPont Manual High School from 1958 to June 3, 1961 where he lettered in his freshman year in football.  Earl joined the Air Force on June 6, 1961 and proudly served his country until 1968. During that time he spent two tours of duty in Vietman.  He attended the University of Arizona, Indiana University in  Jeffersonville Indiana and graduated from Kingwood College in 1992 with an Associate Degree in Business.  Earl married Christy Jane Spears on April 26, 1969 at Harvey Brown Presbyterian Church in Louisville Kentucky.  He is survived by Christy, three daughters Stepahanie White, Tami Burfine, and Michole Robeson.  Six grandchildren, Modena Keeling, Abby Burfine, Kelsie Gibson, Maurice Gibson, Parker Derby Burfine and Abel Archer Burfine, three sons-in-law, Kenneth White, Trent Burfine and Brian Robeson, step-mother Edna Keeling,  brothers Terry Keeling and wife Deborah, Lindig Kiesling,  Michael Stewart and wife Amanda, and Ann Elizabeth Davis and husband Wayne, numerous cousins whom he always shared fond memories about  as well as several nieces and nephews.    Earl and Christy attended Saint Martha’s Catholic Church where they were active in several ministries.  He loved to be with Christy, hunt, fish, and most of all cook.

He was an avid Texan fan.

He volunteered for Can Care, an organization that pairs cancer survivors with others going through the same.

He was active in the ACTS community and often stated that ACTS opened his heart to the love the Lord offers all of us.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Modena Keeling, father Leslie Kenneth Keeling, Ruth and Charles Keeling whom he always considered to be his second set of parents, and his precious grandson Fletcher Wallace Burfine all of whom he loved and adored.

He passed with his family by his side praying him into Heaven. He will be so greatly missed by all who knew him for the faith-driven man he was.
