OBITUARY

Amanda Carrie Baker Kennedy, 35, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in The Woodlands, TX.

She was born in Pikeville, KY on December 24, 1982 and lived in Galesburg, IL until she moved to Willis, TX at age 18. Amanda and Geoffrey were married in Spring, TX on September 24, 2008.  Amanda attended Salvation Army Church and was very involved in her childrens’ activities.  She worked with the Boy Scouts that her children are members of.  She will be remembered for her outgoing, caring, helpful, funny and socially active nature.  Amanda loved country music, especially Garth Brooks; her favorite song was “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off”.  She loved watching movies with her family.

Amanda is preceded in death by her daughter, Unique Baker; her mother, Mabel Lee Lewis; her sister, Jeannie Diane; and her brother, Benjamin Edward.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Geoffrey Kennedy; her sons, Cole and Aiden; her father, Dennis Baker of Hannibal, MO; step father, Louis Meminger of Galesburg, IL.; brothers, Greg Mortensen of UT, Alex Mortensen of Houston, MO, Christopher Baker of Durant, AR, Scott Mortensen of Houston, MO LeeRoy Baker of Conroe, TX, and Ryan Baker of Hannibal, MO, sisters Linda Farley of Greensburg, IN and LaVeta Baker of Hannibal, MO; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Amanda’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Gardens of Darst Funeral Home 796 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, TX 77339. A reception will follow immediately.
