OBITUARY

Marion H. Kisling, 88, passed away December 26th, 2015. She was born on June 4, 1927, in Birmingham, Alabama, and then moved to Houston, TX, with her parents and family. She graduated Cum Laude from Rice University and was a member of the Owen Wister Literary Society. At Rice University, she met her late husband, James William Kisling III. They lived in the Houston area where she focused her life on raising their children. She taught aerobics classes. Also, she played tennis at the Houston Racquet Club. Upon retiring to Kingwood, TX., she was active in the community as a member of a bridge club, a breakfast book club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Delphian Society, the Kingwood Country Club, the Kingwood United Methodist Church, a knitting group, a Methodist dinner group, the P.E.O., a Presbyterian dinner group and the Tri Note choral group. Marion enjoyed traveling the world, enjoyed As The World Turns conventions and enjoyed Sweet Potato Queen festivals. She ventured out to Alaska with family, to bed & breakfasts with friends, and on the Brigadoon sailboat for day trips out of Galveston, TX.

She was a Christian, a loving mother, an active member of the community, a vivacious personality and a dear friend to many.

Marion was the beloved wife of the late James William Kisling, III, and thereafter was treasured by her dear friend, Jack Bailey. She was the mother of her late son James William Kisling IV, and she is survived by her daughter Virginia Kisling Jarvis and her husband Mark, her son Dr. David Hilton Kisling and his wife Rosemary, her granddaughter Dr. Kathryn Ann Jarvis, her grandson William Edward Jarvis II and his wife Jenny, her grandson Wiley Doud Kisling, her special Brenda Michelle Watson, her great grandaughters Elizabeth Sterling Jarvis and Holland Mallery Jarvis, as well as many other precious extended family members.

A faithful Christian, she attended the Wesley Class at Kingwood United Methodist Church at 1799 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, TX 77339, where the services will be held. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, January 8th, and the celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 9th, followed by lunch. Private graveside services will be held at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Avenue, Waco, TX 76708, ATTN: Development office (Note: Please write the Marion Kisling Memorial Fund in the memo line or place a note with the gift.)

Marion’s family is so grateful for her amazing, joyful life and her many wonderful friends!
