OBITUARY

James Edward Larson Jr., also known as “Jimmy” was a committed believer in Jesus Christ, loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was born on February 14, 1947 in Canton, Mississippi and stepped into glory on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Jimmy lived in Mississippi as a child and then moved to Texas, where he graduated from Aldine High School in 1966. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he would serve two tours in Vietnam War and return home in 1969.

In 1970 he began a 35 year career as a service/repair technician with Houston Lighting & Power. He married his wife Kathy in 1973, celebrating 43 years of marriage.

Christian faith was the foundation of his life and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ led him to over 40 years of faithful service in his local church. A willingness to serve the Lord by serving others was the repeating chorus of his life; serving as deacon, teacher, cook, greeter, coffee maker, mentor, and a myriad of other ministry roles through the years.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Kathy of 43 years. He is also survived by his son Eric, his wife Michelle and three grandchildren: Thomas, Allie, and Nathan Larson.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00am at High Point Fellowship Church, 12308 Highway 59, Splendora, TX 77372.
