Lindly, Hershel

Hershel Randal Lindly, born October 31, 1936 in Lamesa, TX died December 9, 2014 in Houston, TX.  Hershel is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Lindly; daughter, Laurie Lindly; and brother, Clarence Lindly.  He is survived by his wife, Roberta Lindly; daughter, Michelle Lindly; grandsons, Weston Wooddall and wife Nancy, Jordan Woodall and wife Carrie and Frank Jackson; granddaughter, Ashley Lindly; great granddaughter, Penelope; brother, Ross Lindly; sister-in-law, Phyllis Robinson and numerous aunts and cousins. Hershel graduated from Texas Tech in 1959 and went on to work for several Texas cities as a city planner.  He then went on to work as a land planner at Schrickel, Rollins & Associates for 34 years.  He notably procured a record number of grants for the establishments of parks in Texas.  Hershel was an active member of Rotary and a dedicated United Methodist.  He and wife, Roberta, retired to Kingwood, TX in December of 2004 where they have served as faithful members of Kingwood United Methodist Church for the past 10 years.  His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX 77339.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Kingwood United Methodist Church.

Interment: A graveside service was held on 2014-12-12 at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
