OBITUARY

Gray, Ty, & Kyle‘s amazing daddy has gone to be with his Father, Jesus Christ.  Doug McGrath, 40, is now bench pressing with his new, perfect body while watching over his family from above.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Shawna, and their three adoring sons.

rn

Doug was born in Park Ridge, IL, to Tim & Nancy McGrath.  He was lucky to become a Texan at an early age and attended Texas A&M University.  He and Shawna married in 1999 and moved back to Kingwood to raise their sons.  As a kid, Doug and his buddy dreamed up a construction company together, and Doug was blessed to spend his work days making that a reality.  When not at work, Doug was at home with his family and made it a point to be a part of all of the boys’ activities.  Doug coached many Kingwood kids in soccer, and taught many in Sunday School and in school science lab.  Gray, Ty, and Kyle had more of a daddy in Doug’s short life than some kids get with a lifetime dad.

rn

Doug loved working out, collecting Irish whiskey, playing his eclectic music list too loudly, and watching movies.  He could command the room with his stories and loved to mess with people.  Doug could jump freakishly high, lift astounding amounts of weight, and smoke a mean turkey.  He was a humble, hard-working man that put his family first and will be missed.

rn

Doug’s legacy will live on through his family, as he was an exceptional husband, daddy, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.  His siblings, Marcy, Tim, and Pierce will miss his loyalty while his sons, nieces, and nephews will miss Doug throwing them in the air.
